Water pressure sets are a pump or arrangement of pumps that take a low-pressure water source and create a pressurized water supply ready for distribution across a vessel or building. The specification takes into consideration the voltage available, the required system pressure and the total required flow rate. In a well-specified system, the pumps will be correctly sized to ensure that they are not cycling (switching on and off frequently), running permanently (undersized) or dropping of the flow when multiple outlets are in use
The pressure can be stored using an accumulator and this also has the added benefit of absorbing any water hammer on the system caused by the pump impeller and closing of taps and other outlets
