CEM – Water Pressure Systems

Note: The J-Mini, J-INOX, MG-INOX models have stainless steel pump heads and are not suitable for use pumping seawater, for a brine pressure water system please ensure a bronze pump is selected such as PB & JBR models

CEM – Water Pressure Systems

Square D Pressure Switch
Square D Pressure Switch

This is a listing for the Schneider Electric, mechanical type Square D type pressure switch controlled pressure systems. The switch does make a click on off so is not recommended when being installed in a non engine-room or machinery space, they are however very robust and low maintenance reliable switches. It is always our preference to use this switch type ands Ocean Footprint have installed hundreds of this type in both commercial and leisure vessels. Get in touch with us if you want to upgrade this switch to a manual reset and dry run protection

Water pressure systems, widely used in the nautical sector to grant provide stable water pressure for all onboard appliances such as; showers, washbasins, toilets, etc.

The accumulator size determines the pressure storage on the system, so the larger the accumulator can reduce the cycling “switching on and off” of the pump for small uses such as flushing of a toilet in the night, and can improve the experience on board. Additional accumulators are available for purchase and can be added at any part of the water system and can help to reduce pressure drops across the system caused by multiple outlets being opened at once

For full operation it is recommended:

  • To install a non-return valve fitted in the suction inlet
  • If the unit is not used for a long time, before operating it, make sure that the inside pressure of the tank is equal to (or 0.2 bar below) the minimum pressure setting of the pressure switch
  • On initial operation following installation, it may be necessary to prime the pump head by filling it using the priming point

Our water pressure systems are normally equipped with:

  • Electric pump type J-mini, J-INOX, JBR or PB (voltage and performances selectable)
  • A cylindrical tank with internal food grade butyl rubber diaphragm;
    • 2 litre in stainless steel
    • 2 litre painted steel sheet with a flange made in stainless steel
    • 8 litre in stainless steel
    • 8 litre painted steel sheet with a flange made in stainless steel
    • 20 litre in stainless steel
    • 20 litre painted steel sheet with a flange made in stainless steel
  • Pressure switch – setting specific to the model
  • Pressure gauge
  • 5-way brass manifold
