SeaFlo ROBUST AND RELIABLE CENTRIFUGAL PUMP

The SeaFlo heavy-duty mag drive centrifugal pump provides a steady flow of cooling water through the air conditioning system: ensuring top cooling performance. The glass-reinforced polypropylene head pump has magnetic drive impellers and is available with submersible or air-cooled motors. Centrifugal pumps must be mounted below the waterline

Self-priming pumps are also available for above-water-line applications. A scoop type through-hull and a seawater strainer are recommended for proper operation. When more than one air conditioning unit is served by a single pump, a separate pump relay is used. To complete the installation, Ocean Footprint can also supply water manifolds, hoses, and fittings. Larger pumps have bronze heads with mechanical seals, and air-cooled, drip-proof motors. Ensure your onboard comfort

SeaFlo Installation:

As with all centrifugal flooded chamber pumps, the pump needs to be mounted below the waterline and it is critical that the impeller is primed with water. This type of pump is incredibly reliable but if run dry it will melt and stop operating. It is also very important that there are no opportunities for airlocks in the system so it is important that there is a gentle incline of the hose to the pump from the skin fitting, sea cock and strainer

The positioning of the skin fitting must be well below the waterline to avoid air entering the system, this is especially important on sailing yachts
