Description
Reusable Respirators / Face Masks for Professional use
…heart of the design is the comfort and safety…
As part of our own professional range of products designed for marine professionals and boat builders, we are proud to introduce a range of double-folded silicon respirators/face masks with a range of replaceable filters for any application in boat building (and any other professional application). Specially catering for the tough environment of boat building, we have come up with a cost-effective and comfortable range of masks with a range of interchangeable filters. At the heart of the design is the comfort and safety of the person wearing the masks, we assume that the mask will be used all day for a multitude of tasks that you would expect in a boatyard, including spray painting, laminating, sanding, grinding and fairing
…offer significant savings…
Each respirator filter can last up to 40 hours of use and this can offer significant savings from using the non-reusable (NR) respirators, added to the benefit of using a much more comfortable fully adjustable mask. As a supplier to a multitude of boat builders worldwide, we pledge to always hold stock of many types of filters meeting the ethos of Ocean Footprint in offering high-quality products at affordable prices
…designed for marine professional and boat builders…
- Comfortable To Wear: The mask is made of double-folded silica, it provides a comfortable feeling for facial skin. Soft silica won’t make you feel uncomfortable and will allow for all-day use
- Professional respirator: Professional respirator with a dual filtration system that effectively blocks up to 96% of organic vapours, fumes, pollen, dust and other particles in the air
- Ingenious design: Cold flow breathing valve design reduces the resistance to breathing. The mask is equipped with an easy-to-adjust headband for most head types and comfort
- Reusable: The mask is reusable and has replaceable filters. At the same time, the mask has a detachable filter box, which is easy and quick to disassemble
- Durable: Lens is coated for scratch resistance
- Valve: Double valve to discharge exhaled air, reduce moisture, and avoid recycling stale air
First, the filtered gas mask must be used in an oxygen-laden environment with an oxygen concentration of no less than 18%, this is mainly because if there is no oxygen in the air, then it is impossible to filter out the appropriate oxygen supply to the user. For some very high or low-temperature environments, these masks might not be suitable (operation from between -30°C to 45°C)
Secondly, users of filter-type anti-virus masks must choose the appropriate anti-virus mask according to the size of their face to avoid air leakage or other problems. The best and often the most critical problem is that the filter-type anti-virus mask must pay attention to the choice of anti-virus filter box before use, so as to avoid accidents during use
…fully certified and CE marked for your assurance…
Respirator Filter Details and standards
The filters on our range of professional half and full-face respirators meet the EN standard EN14837 which sets out the minimum requirements for gas and combination gas/particulate filters. It classifies filters into various types such as A, B, E, and K as well as categories such as filter capacities, depending on the chemical or solvent being protected against. Combination filters are available where a range of airborne, respirable hazards exist
Type A – Organic vapours and gases with a boiling point of 65°C or higher (Brown)
Type B – Inorganic vapours and gases (excluding CO and CO2) (Grey)
Type E – Sulphur dioxide and other acidic vapours and gases (Yellow)
Type K – Ammonia and organic ammonia derivatives (Green)
Each one of these class types is further classified into three further classes relating to filter absorption capacity. These classes are:
- Class 1 (Low Capacity) – protects against organic vapours & gases, suitable for pollutant concentration of < 0.1%, or up to 1,000ppm (EN 14387 A1)
- Class 2 (Average/Medium Capacity) – protects against organic gases and vapours, suitable for pollutant concentration of < 0.5%, or up to 5,000ppm (EN 14387 A2)
- Class 3 (High Capacity) – protects against organic gases and vapours, Suitable for pollutant concentration of < 1%, or up to 10,000ppm (EN 14387 A2)
EN 143 Standard for particle filters
- P1 Filter –P1 filters are defined as having a low performance, with a minimum of 80% efficiency. These filters are designed to protect from non-toxic dust and/or water-based aerosols (EN 143 P1) – Filtration comparable to FFP1
- P2 Filter – P2 filters are defined as having a medium or average level of performance, with a minimum of 94% efficiency. These filters are designed to protect from slightly toxic or irritating solid aerosols or liquids (EN 143 P2) – Filtration comparable to FFP2
- P3 Filter – P3 filters are defined as having a high level of performance, with a minimum of 97% efficiency. These filters are designed to protect from solid aerosols or substances that are considered toxicP3 filters are defined as having a high level of performance, with a minimum of 97% efficiency. These filters are designed to protect from solid aerosols or substances that are considered toxic (EN 143 P3) – Filtration comparable to FFP3
How to select your combination mask and filter:
Now that we’ve gone over the relevant standards for full face masks and particle filters, you should be in a better place to decide which combination of mask and filter you need. One last consideration you may need to be aware of is the connection type of your filter and mask, as these will need to match up so you can use the two together. The two main connection types are as follows
P-A-1 – This would be a combination of an A1 & P1 filters above
A2P3 – This would be a combination of A1 & P3 filters above
