CEM MCA electric two-stage self-priming Maceration pump chops the waste stream then a powerful star impeller liquid ring propels the waste stream
Description
CEM – MCA 75 Self Priming Macerator Pump
Grinding
Maceration, in marine sewage terms, is the use of a machine that reduces solids to small pieces in order to deal with rags and other solid waste. Macerating pumps use a grinding or blending mechanism to reduce human waste to a slurry, which can then be moved by pumping. This is useful when, for example, water pressure is low or one wishes to install a tank below the pump out pipe connector. Maceration can be achieved by using a chopper pump in the sewage lift station or at the wastewater treatment plant
…first stage chops… The second stage is a star impeller liquid ring pump…
The CEM Pumps and Blowers Maceration pump is an electric two-stage self-priming pump where the first stage chops the waste stream and the second stage is a star impeller liquid ring pump that propels the waste stream, causing a self-priming effect
With the entire wet end of the CEM Pumps MCA 75 Self Priming Macerator Pump being manufactured from bronze, it is perfect for both systems using freshwater or seawater for the toilet flushing system, and the powerful thrust provided by the liquid ring stage can offer a high flow of liquids containing solids overboard to a suitable discharge point
In our opinion at Ocean Footprint, this is the most important pump onboard, it is the last thing you are going to want to have to deal with manually fixing whilst at sea, and it is well worth its weight in gold
