…withstand extremes never before experienced…
America’s race to the moon created an intense demand for technological advancement in alloys and coatings. One of the greatest challenges was the development of manned space capsules, vehicles that would be subjected to more punishment than any other mode of transportation in history. From the intense cold and ultraviolet radiation of space to the heat
of re-entry and the expected corrosion caused after a saltwater splashdown, these vehicles had to withstand extremes never before experienced
In their development of the Apollo space capsule, North American Rockwell solicited chemical companies and independent chemists to provide a protective coating for extruded aluminium and magnesium components of the spacecraft. Rockwell subjected over 300 different coatings to a battery of tests to determine which one would best meet its performance parameters. And the winner was Nyalic
Nyalic was chosen and used not only on the Apollo command module but on the Lunar Rover as well…
Nyalic was developed using a blend of several polymeric resins that appeared to exhibit the properties that Rockwell was seeking – a coating that was very durable yet flexible, withstood UV rays, prevented corrosion and oxidation and performed at a film thickness as low as five microns. After intense and careful evaluation, Nyalic was chosen and used not only on the Apollo command module but on the Lunar Rover as well
Nyalic can protect equipment from rust by stopping water and air coming into contact with the metal
Today many of the technologies specifically developed for the Apollo Moon Landing Program have found new uses and are now widely used here on Earth
For example, Nyalic now provides its’ Space Craft Proven Protection for all types of bare metals and painted surfaces that are exposed to highly corrosive chemicals like salt, salt-water, fertilizers, urea, phosphate, potash, chlorides and more. Its’ clear coating does not conduct electricity or inhibit the heat dissipation, so it is commonly used on sensitive electrical components and on critical cooling radiators and HVAC systems. Not only does it protect painted surfaces, it is actually used to restore the gloss to old oxidized paint
Nyalic’s Space Craft Proven Protection can now be widely found in these major markets: AG and Construction Equipment, Marine, Transportation, and Industrial Equipment
About Nyalic
Developed over 50 years ago for the Apollo space program, Nyalic is more than a clear coat surface protectant. It is a high-performance technology developed to protect metal and painted surfaces from corrosion in the most extreme environments. This is why it is perfect for use in the marine environment and recommended by Ocean Footprint

inhibits paint oxidation, metal corrosion, pitting and staining
Nyalic is a water-clear, flexible, hard-coat resin that provides a permanent protective coating. It is not a wax, paraffin, polish or any other type of sacrificial coating. When properly applied it will not yellow, crack, peel or flake
…extend operating life and increase the residual value of mission-critical assets…
It forms a clear seal to prevent water, dirt and corrosive chemicals from reaching the underlying bare metal or painted surface. The protective barrier inhibits paint oxidation, metal corrosion, pitting and staining caused by external attacks
Nyalic is suited for commercial and industrial equipment working in or in close proximity to highly corrosive chemicals like salt, fertilizer, phosphate and potash. Nyalic is also used in marine, transportation and architectural markets to protect from harsh environments, extend operating life and increase the residual value of mission-critical assets
Extends Equipment Life And Preserves Appearance of most products
