Ocean Footprint – ISO14001
Ocean Footprint was formerly certified as an ISO14001 company through Lloyds Register Quality Assurance (up to the 8th December 2024), an organisation that is well respected in the maritime sector. Since our lapsing of the externally certified version we have retained our processes internally to be compliant to the internationally recognised environmental standard
The ISO14000 family addresses various aspects of environmental management and contains some of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) best-known standards. The standards provide guidance and tools for companies and organizations who want to ensure that their environmental responsibility consistently meets customer’s requirements and that our carbon footprint is consistently improved
ISO14001 sets out the criteria for an environmental management system and is the only standard in the family that can be aspired to. It can be used by any organisation, large or small, regardless of its field of activity. In fact, there are over one million companies and organizations in over 170 countries working to ISO14001
This standard is based on a number of environmental management principles including a strong sustainability focus, the motivation and implication of top management, the process approach and continual improvement. Using ISO14001:2015 helps ensure that customers get consistent, good-quality products and services, in a sustainable manner. This is done through the implementation of our Quality and Environmental Policy, current version available here.

Reduce Carbon Footprint
Designed for organisations of any size and in any sector, working to the ISO14001 standard enables us to demonstrate that we are committed to meeting targets set out to reduce the impact on resources and energy usage
Recycle and reuse
In many cases, independent third-party certification to ISO14001 is a requirement to trade and through our globally recognised brand, although not externally certified, the process provides a competitive advantage
Streamlined processes
By following the best practice principles found in ISO14001, the process helps develop a more robust approach to environmental management and a greater understanding of the internal and external context of our organisation, which will contribute to a reduction in our business’ environmental impact
Confidence
Having previously being certified to this standard Ocean Footprint can offer assurance that we don’t just follow good practice when it comes to our environmental responsibilities, we offer the day-to-day running of this process however no longer audited.
Ocean Footprint wishes to set up, improve, and maintain an environmental management system to conform with its established environmental policy and requirements. The requirements of the standard have been incorporated into our environmental management system, which is determined by several factors including the Ocean Footprint’s industry, environmental policy, products and service offerings, and location:
- Context of the organisation
- Quality and Environmental Policy
- Leadership
- Planning
- Support
- Operation
- Performance evaluation
- Improvement
